Our Manufacturing Manager, Shaun Dodd, reckons third year apprentice Connor “is on fire”.
After recently completing his first solo build of a Fulton Hogan Road Service Truck, Connor cracked on with building a custom roller trailer.
Shaun says “he owned the project right from the start”. There were no formal plans, Connor built the trailer from a rough sketch handling everything from the measuring, marking, cutting and folding right through to Mig welding, notching the guard steps (a tricky process) and completing the mechanical fit out.
Conner was all about the details and after the final assembly he even sorted the WOF and rego before washing it and delivering it to the client, who was rapt with the finished product.
From start to finish, the job took just 1½ weeks. This project illustrates how many skills Connor has mastered during his time with us. We can’t wait to see what he achieves next.
